NOTE: There was work in the west end of the building to day which is usually done by S, but he was absent today, so J did it today instead, like yesterday. The western machine is at the other end of the building and is a load-and-come-back-in-a-half-an-hour affair, meaning S normally spends about half his time there and the other half in department. This "accounts", i.e., gives him a plausible excuse, for the long "wandering" sessions during J's day. Sort of. I'm not sure J did any work in the department this day. S would have.
